رقیه در مقطع دبیرستان مشغول به تحصیل می باشد.پدر به علت سکته مغزی فوت کرده است و مادر ناراحتی کلیه و اعصاب و معده دارد.او چهار خواهر دارد. که دو تا از آنها ازازدواج کرده اند. رقیه و خواهر دانشجویش درس خوان می باشند و تلاش میکنند که نمراتی خوبی داشته باشند.و سایل زندگی آنها بسیارمحقر و فرسوده است .آن در خانه ای قدیمی در نزدیکی تهران زندگی می کنند که نیاز به تعمییرات اساسی دارد. رقیه از جهت تغذیه و پوشاک و تحصیل نیاز شدید به کمکهای مردمی دارد.
